Knitting Instructions for a Stylish Sweater in Mohair Luxe and Clown Yarn



You’ll Need
100g of mohair yarn Mohair Luxe (77% mohair, 23% silk; 175m/25g) of smoky grey color;
200g of the Clown yarn in the same color (38% cotton, 30% polyester, 26% viscose, 6% polyamide; 75m/50g);
Straight knitting needles 6 and 8;
Circle knitting needles 8;
Markers.
Size
Size: S
Width of upper part – 90 cm.
Length – 58 cm.
Used Patterns
Pattern 1
Due to the scheme with knitting needles 8 and 2 threads of yarn - Mohair Luxe and Clown.
Pattern 2
Knitting needles 8 and 2 threads of yarn - Mohair Luxe and Clown:
- 1st row: * 1 knit st, 1 purl*; repeat from * to * to end of row;
- 2nd row: * 1 purl, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to * to end of row.
Replace the pattern to 1 st from the 3rd row.
Pattern 3
This pattern is created on the wrong side using mohair yarn and knitting needles 6: in RS row – purls, in WS row – knit sts.
Stitches Control
Pattern 1: 16 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
Pattern 3: 14 sts x 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Front and Back
Make as a one-piece detail. Cast on 150 sts using 2 threads of yarn and work according to the following description: 1 selvedge st, 2 sts of pattern 2, 144 sts of pattern 1, 2 sts of pattern 2, 1 selvedge st. Mark the “side lines,” placing markers after the 39th and 111th sts. At 38 cm, bind off 3 sts before and 3 sts after the markers. Finish each part separately. You should get 36 sts for each half of the front and 66 sts for the back.
Right Front
Bind off 2 sts x 1 and 1 st x 5 for the armhole. Knit the remaining 29 sts straight. After 20 cm from the armhole beginning, leave these sts.
Back
Bind off 2 sts x 1 in every 2nd row and 1 st x 5 for the armholes. Knit the rest 52 sts straight to 20 cm from the beginning of the armholes. Leave the sts.
Left Front
Make in symmetry to the right.
Sleeves
Cast on 33 sts with knitting needles 6 and mohair yarn. Work using pattern 3, increasing 1 st x 9 in every 14th row. You should get 51 sts.
Sleeve Cap
After 57 cm, bind off 3 sts x 1 from both sides and 2 sts x 1. Then 1 st x 4 in every row, 1 st x 8 in every 4th row, 2 sts x 1 in every 2nd row, and finally 3 sts x 1. At 20 cm from the beginning of the sleeve cap, bind off the remaining 7 sts.
Assembly and Fastening
Transfer 29 sts of the front, 7 sts of the sleeve, 52 sts of the back, 7 sts of the sleeve, and 29 sts of the left front to one needle. Make 2 rows of pattern 2. Bind off the sts according to the ornament. Sew up the sleeves.
