How to Create a Stunning Fabric Basket

You’ll Need:

Fabric;

Thick double-sided vlieseline or woven interfacing;

Iron;

Ruler;

Pencil or marker for fabric;

Scissors;

Sewing machine;

Threads.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Fabric Rectangles

Cut out two identical rectangles from two types of fabric measuring 76x81 cm. Glue them together with non-woven or doubler, forming a “sandwich” so that the front sides of the fabric are facing outwards.

Step 2: Mark Lines

Retreat 25 cm from each of the edges and draw 4 lines.

Step 3: Sew Inner Rectangle

Sew along the lines of the inner rectangle to allow the basket to fold better.

Step 4: Cut Fabric

Cut out as shown in the photo.

Step 5: Outline Slots

Now outline 6 slots as depicted in the photo.

Step 6: Strengthen Edges

Sew stitches around the edges of the slits and cuts. This will strengthen them and prevent fraying.

Step 7: Create Slots

Make 6 slots along the marked lines.

Step 8: Assemble the Basket

Finally, it remains to collect the basket.
