Complete Guide to Creating a Beautiful Stool Cover with Hexagon and Half-Circle Motifs

Hexagon Motif Instructions

1st row: 3 chain sts and connect them by means of slip st. Make 2 chain sts increase;

2nd row: 3 double crochets + 2 chain sts increase in every base st;

3rd row: 1 chain st, 4 double crochets, 1 chain st. Continue this motif to the end of the row. Make slip st to connect the beginning and end of the row.

Finish work.

One hexagon is ready. You can make it with one color yarn or add another color yarn. The quantity of squares should cover the whole seat of your stool.

Half-Circle Motif Instructions

If your work isn’t smooth, add half-circle motifs using the following description:

1st row: circle 3 chain sts in a ring;

2nd row: 2 double crochets in every st of the previous row;

3rd row: 1 chain st, 4 double crochets, 1 chain st – repeat to the end of the row. Fasten the yarn.

When you have the needed quantity of motifs, connect them with one another using slip st. Fasten your work with single crochets. After the 1st circle, make 2 chain sts and then continue with the next row of double crochets.

Finish your work with arches of 3 chain sts, which are repeated every 4 crochets.

Cut the yarn and weave in the ends.

I make a lot of lap covers for veterans at our local VA Hospital, these seat covers look like a lot of fun to make. I'm legally blind and still see a little, I have so much fun making things for others. Thank you for the pattern. Marlene
