How to Make Homemade Bath Bombs with Natural Ingredients

You'll Need
Gather the following ingredients to create your bath bombs:
- 2 cups baking soda
- 1 cup powdered buttermilk
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup Epsom salts
- 1/3 cup coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon jojoba oil
- 2 tablespoons turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoons dried dandelions
- 10-20 drops turmeric essential oil
- Stainless steel bath bomb molds
- Mini muffin tin (optional)
- Spray bottle filled with rubbing alcohol
- 1 large mixing bowl
Instructions
Begin by preparing your bath bombs using the following steps:
In a large mixing bowl, add the baking soda, buttermilk, Epsom salts, and cornstarch. Whisk the dry ingredients together until well combined.
Add the coconut oil. This ingredient is crucial as it binds all the components together, ensuring your bath bombs don’t crumble when you handle them!
Next, incorporate the turmeric essential oil and jojoba oil into the mix.
Thoroughly mix the ingredients. If necessary, you can use your hands to break down any lumps and ensure everything is evenly combined. The mixture is ready when it holds together when pressed in your hands and feels like wet sand. Then, mix in the dried dandelion and turmeric.
Fill both sides of the mold with the mixture, press the molds together firmly, and grind to remove any excess mixture. Gently tap each side of the mold to release the bath bombs. To prevent breaking during the drying phase, place them in a mini muffin tin where they fit perfectly!
Allow the bath bombs to dry for a minimum of 24 hours. If your climate is particularly wet or cold, consider allowing an additional 24 hours for optimal drying.
