Drawing and Inserting the Hook
Draw a stitch and insert your hook in the second thread, catch the working thread and get out both stitches.

Start with the first pattern - get out the drawn stitch...
Creating the Bottom Row
When you get the needed length of the 1st row, with the working stitch after the final single crochet, insert the hook under both stitches of the bottom row and crochet a fixing single crochet.
Finishing with a Fixing Knot
Draw a long stitch after the fixing knot, fasten it with the next stitch in one knot, single crochet.
