Materials

• 8mm crochet hook
• Bulky yarn: milky white (2 skeins) and brownie mole (1 skein) yarn (100 gr for the sample/ 50 gr per skein)
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Note

I used a chainless starting double crochet for every first double crochet of each row/round instead of a chain 3. Another good crochet technique to use is chain 2, double crochet into the same stitch (counted as 1st double crochet). In the pattern below, you’ll see I simply state double crochet for every first double crochet of each row/round, so just choose your best technique.

Scarf Instructions

Start with color A yarn.

Make a multiple of 10 foundation chains plus 4 chains (the first 3 chains will work as the 1st double crochet).

Row by Row Instructions

R1: Double crochet into the 4th chain from the hook. (chain 3, skip 3 chains, 2 double crochet into the next 2 chains) repeat across. End with 2 double crochet into the last 2 chains.

R2: (See picture no.1) Change to color B yarn, turn, chain 1, single crochet into the 1st stitch, single crochet into the next stitch. *Chain 1, treble crochet into the middle chain of the next chain 3-space, chain 1, 2 single crochets into the next 2 stitches* repeat ** across. End with 2 single crochets into the last 2 stitches.

R3: (See picture no.2) Rotate your work 180 degrees. This round you will work into the foundation chain. With color A yarn, 2 double crochet into the first 2 chains. (chain 3, skip 3 chains, 2 double crochet into the next 2 chains) repeat across. End with 2 double crochet into the last 2 chains.

R4: (See picture no.3) Change to color B yarn, turn, chain 1, single crochet into the 1st stitch, single crochet into the next stitch. *Chain 1, treble crochet into the middle chain of the next chain 3-space (this time work the treble crochet behind the chain 3 of R3), chain 1, 2 single crochets into the next 2 stitches* repeat ** across. End with 2 single crochets into the last 2 stitches.

R5: Change to color A yarn, single crochet around as the border line, make 3 double crochet into each corner. (Fasten off, weave in ends.)
