Notes
The Super Scrubbie crochet pattern is stitched using 1 strand of Scrubby yarn and 1 strand of cotton yarn, or 2 strands of cotton yarn. Please note that the ch1 at the ends of rows does not count as a stitch; it is a turning chain.
Pattern Instructions
RND 1: With the 2 strands of yarn (see note), ch 16, join with a slst to form a loop, ch 1.
St 16 sc in the loop, join to 1st sc, ch 1 (A loop with 16 sc)
RND 2: 1 sc in the 1st 4 sc, (sc, ch2, sc) in the next sc, 1 sc in the last 4 sc, ch 1, turn (5 sc, ch2, 5 sc)
RND 3: 1 sc in the 1st 5 sc, (sc, ch2, sc) in the next sc, 1 sc in the last 5 sc, ch 1, turn (6 sc, ch2, 6 sc)
RND 4: 1 sc in the 1st 6 sc, (sc, ch2, sc) in the next sc, 1 sc in the last 6 sc, ch 1, turn (7 sc, ch2, 7 sc)
RND 5: 1 sc in the 1st 7 sc, (sc, ch2, sc) in the next sc, 1 sc in the last 7 sc, ch 1, turn (8 sc, ch2, 8 sc)
RND 6: 1 sc in the 1st 8 sc, (sc, ch1, sc) in the next sc, 1 sc in the last 8 sc, ch 1, turn (9 sc, ch2, 9 sc)
RND 7: 1 sc in the 1st 9 sc, (sc, ch1, sc) in the next sc, 1 sc in the last 9 sc, ch 1, turn (10 sc, ch2, 10 sc)
RND 8: 1 sc in the 1st 10 sc, (sc, ch2, sc) in the next sc, 1 sc in the last 10 sc, ch 1, turn (11 sc, ch2, 11 sc)
For Small - Skip To R: 14
RND 9: R: 13 - Continue to repeat R: 8 - Increase By 2 sc each row. If you want the Scrubbies to be bigger, continue to repeat the pattern until the scrubbie is as big as you like.
RND 14: Trim - Tie off the scrubbie yarn, or one strand of the cotton if using 2 strands of cotton yarn, with the cotton yarn.
Sc evenly across the scrubbie edges.
1 sc in each st and ch across, 2 sc in each corner and the ch1 sp. 1 sc in each st around the scrubbie loop, evenly sc down the 2nd side of the scrubbie. Join to the 1st sc, and tie off.
