- 2.5 mm crochet hook
- Stylecraft Special DK in Denim
- Cork – recycled (approx 4.5 cm tall and 3 cm wide)

The hat is worked from the top down, allowing the petals to form so that her cute little gnome face can poke through.

Creating the Dress
Foundation round: Chain 16 and join with a slip stitch.
Round 1: Chain 1. 1 dc in each chain of the foundation round and join with a slip stitch. (16 dc)
Round 2 - 3: Chain 1. 1 dc in each stitch around. (16 dc)
Round 4 (Petals): Chain 1, *skip 1, [3 htr, 3 chain picot, 2 htr], skip 1, slip stitch. Repeat from * 3 more times so that you have 4 petals. Fasten off and fit the dress over the cork.
Creating the Hat
Foundation: Make a magic circle with 4 dc going into it. (4 dc)
Round 1 - 3: 1 dc in each stitch around. (4 dc)
Round 4: Inc in each stitch around. (8 dc)
Round 5 - 6: 1 dc in each stitch around. (8 dc)
Round 7: *1 dc, inc. Repeat from * 3 more times. (12 dc)
Round 8: 1 dc in each stitch around. (12 dc)
Round 9: *2 dc, inc. Repeat from * 3 more times. (16 dc)
Round 11: *3 dc, inc. Repeat from * 3 more times. (20 dc)
Round 12: *4 dc, inc. Repeat from * 3 more times. (24 dc)
Round 13: 1 dc in each stitch around. (24 dc)
Round 14 (Petals): *Skip 1, [3 htr, 3 chain picot, 2 htr], skip 1, slip stitch. Repeat from * 4 more times so that you have 5 petals. There will be a gap at the front so that the face of the gnome can be seen. Fasten off and pull the hat over the head – you may want to secure the hat to the dress with a few sewing stitches.
