  • Monaco mercerized cotton 5ply /fingering weight
  • 2mm hook
  • Scissor

  • Plastic snap/snap plier
  • Key chain/connector

Instructions for Creating the Wallet

RND 1: Make a slip knot and ch 20. Sc on the 2nd ch from hook, and sc on the remaining chs (19 sc). Ch 1 & turn.

RND 2: Sc 18 on the 18 sts. 2 sc on the last st. (20). Ch 1 & turn.

RND 3: 2 sc on the first st. 1 sc on the rest of the sts (21). Ch 1 & turn.

RND 4: 20 sc on the next 20 sts. 2 sc on the last (22). Ch 1 & turn.

RND 5: 2 sc on the same st, 1 sc on the rest of the sts (23). Ch 1 & turn.

RND 6: Sc on the next 22 sts, 2 sc on the last st. (24). Ch 1 & turn.

RND 7: 2 sc on the same st, 1 sc on the rest of the sts (25). Ch 1 & turn.

RND 8: Sc on the next 22 sts, 2 sc on the last st. (26). Ch 1 & turn.

RND 9: 2 sc on the same st, 1 sc on the rest of the sts (27). Ch 1 & turn.

RND 10: Sc on the next 22 sts, 2 sc on the last st. (28). Ch 1 & turn.

RND 11: 28 sc, ch 1, and turn. Now we're done with increasing sts. Now let's move on to decreasing.

RND 12: 28 sc, ch 1, and turn.

RND 13: Sc 2 together, sc on the rest of the sts. (27). Ch 1, and turn.

RND 14-22: Just start decreasing in every row until you reach 19 sc sts only.

Picot

[picot,3 sc,] repeat [**] 6x

Continue 18 sc down across. Note: it should be 19 sts on each side. On the bottom, make 22 sc.
Now we're going to work on the top part of the wallet.

RND 1: Working from bottom to top, skip 1 st. Sc on the next st. (one loop only, back part) Sc on the next 16 back loop. Leaving 2 sts before picot. (17 sc) turn.

RND 2: (do not ch 1) Sc 17, (add 2 sts on the bottom) sc 2 in 1 loop only. Turn.

RND 3: Skip 2 sts. 17 sc, turn. Repeat RND 2 and 3 until the end of the stitches. Making 23 rows of 17 sc.

Once you're done with the top, it's time to close it on the other side.
Reverse the wallet and we will close it using sc. Working on the sides, insert the hook on both loops of the front. Then insert the hook on the back loops only of the back. Sc across. When you're done, just cut the yarn and weave ends.
I used a plastic snap for the button; you can also use a metal snap if you don't have an available plastic snap. Also, I inserted a key chain holder on the side.
