I think it's gorgeous!  I don't think you have to limit to «dressier» occasions- with jeans & a simple top, this would completely change the look.  If you make it, we want pictures of it being worn!!

I think it's stunning, would make any plain coat look fabulous, and if you make something with your own hands, it can't be pretentious. We should all wear what we love and feel good in. 😉
