​Crochet Angel Ornament

You’ll need:

Fine or Worsted Weight Yarn in White, or desired color;

G or E Crochet Hook;

Fiberfill;

Heavy Thread (for hanging);

Scissors;

Yarn Needle.

 

Size:  6.5" with #4 yarn and G hook, 5.5" with #2 yarn and E hook.

 

Instructions

For worsted (#4) weight yarn use a G hook

For Light (#3) weight yarn use an E hook

Rounds 1-7 create the angel's head

Round 2-11 make the wings

Round 12 creates the waist

Rounds 13-

If you use a different weight yarn adjust your hook size accordingly. You want the hook to be slightly smaller than recommended so the stitches on the head are nice and tight and doesn't have big gaps for the stuffing to show through. 

 

Begin with a magic ring

Round 1: in mr, ch 1, 6 sc (6 sc)

Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch (12 sc)

Round 3: [2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in nest stitch] repeat around (18 sc)

Round 4: 1 sc in each stitch (18 sc)

Round 5: 1 sc in each stitch (18 sc)

Round 6: [sc2tog in first stitch, 1 sc in next] repeat around (12 sc)

stuff the head with a small amount of fiberfill

Round 7: sc2tog around, sl st to first stitch to join (6 sc)

Round 8: ch 2, 2 dc in each stitch, sl st to first stitch to join (12 dc)

Round 9: ch 2, 2 dc in each stitch, sl stitch to first stitch to join (24 dc)

Round 10: ch 2, 2 dc in each stitch, sl stitch to first stitch to join (48 dc)

Round 11: ch 1, 1 sc in each of next 6 stitches, [sl st in next stitch, ch 3, skip next stitch] 8 times, sl st in next 2 stitches, sc in next 6 stitches, sl st in next 2 stitches, [ch 3, skip 1 stitch, sl st in next] 8 times, sl st to first sc to join (12 sc, 16 ch loops)

Round 12: ch 1, sc in each of 6 sc, skip all ch loops and sl st to sc on opposite side, sc in each of the 6 sc, skip ch loops and sl st, join to first sc to join (12 sc)

Round 13: ch 1, [sc, ch 3] in each stitch around, sl st to first sc to join (12 sc, 12 ch 3 loops)

Round 14: sl st into center of first ch loop, ch 1, sc in ch loop, ch 3, [sc in next ch loop, ch 3] repeat around, sl st to first sc to join (12 sc, 12 ch 3 loops)

Round 15: sl st into center of first ch loop, ch 1, sc in ch loop, ch 4, [sc in next ch loop, ch 4] repeat around, sl st to first sc to join (12 sc, 12 ch 4 loops)

Round 16: sl st into center of first ch loop, ch 1, sc in ch loop, ch 4, [sc in next ch loop, ch 4] repeat around, sl st to first sc to join (12 sc, 12 ch 4 loops)

Round 17: sl st into center of first ch loop, ch 1, sc in ch loop, ch 5, [sc in next ch loop, ch 5] repeat around, sl st to first sc to join (12 sc, 12 ch 5 loops)

Round 18:  sl st into center of first ch loop, ch 1, sc in ch loop, ch 5, [sc in next ch loop, ch 5] repeat around, sl st to first sc to join (12 sc, 12 ch 5 loops)

Round 19: sl st into center of first ch loop, ch 1, sc in ch loop, [dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc] in next sc, [sc in next ch loop, (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc) in next sc] repeat around, sl st to the first sc to join (12 shells)

Finish off and weave in ends

Attach a string to the top of the angel to make a hanging loop
