My first time with thick yarn

Good day!
I want to share with you my feelings concerning work with very thick yarn.
Maybe, I'm quite old-fashioned, but I've tried to work with thick yarn just yesterday!
But look what I got:
Very fast and simply made rug. But it looks so cozy!
Now I want to make a plaid of thick merino wool!
The rug looks like it would be very nice and soft underfoot and warm in the winter time.
