Happy Little Car, Plane, & Truck

Crocheted vehicles offer many hours of fun for little ones! Their soft cuddliness is easy to play with, even for the smallest little fingers. And when they are soiled, they can be thrown in the washing machine.

Car measures 23⁄4” wide x 41⁄2” long (7 x 11.5 cm).

Plane measures 8” long x 8” wide (20.5 x 20.5 cm), across wings. Truck measures 23⁄4” wide x 7” long (7 x 18 cm).

Special Stitches

bpdc (back post double crochet) = Yarn over, insert hook from back side of work to front and to back again around the post of indicated stitch; yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through 2 loops (2 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through 2 loops (1 loop on hook). Skip the stitch in front of the bpdc.

fpdc (front post double crochet) = Yarn over, insert hook from front side of work to back and to front again around post of indicated stitch; yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through 2 loops (2 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through 2 loops (1 loop on hook).

sc2tog = [Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop] twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.

sc3tog = [Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop in next st] 3 times, yarn over and draw through all 4 loops on hook.

Notes

1. Car, plane, and truck are worked in pieces that are sewn together.

2. Sections worked in rounds have right sides facing at all times and are joined at the end of each round.

3. To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch. Proceed with new color. Cut old color.

4. Insert stuffing only when instructed.
