my first experience with amigurumi

Hello, ladies!
I want to make my first amigurumi toy.
What yarn and crochet hook would you recommend me?
What type of stuffing to choose?
Any advice for the very beginner in this?

I have only made a few different animals in that style. The first couple I ever made I still used my regular worsted weight red heart yarn and size H or I hook. I use the poly-fil stuffing in the big bags. my issue is working in the round (i lose count and havent mastered st markers yet!)
