You’ll need:

550 (600; 650; 700; 750)g of Schachenmayr original Extra Merino yarn (100% wool; 130m/50g) in light-blue color (# 00054);

Knitting needles 4;

Auxiliary needle;

8 buttons with 23 mm diameter.

Size: S (M; L; XL; XXL).

Stitches control: stockinette stitch: 22 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Cable-stitch: 19 sts = 6 cm wide.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 118 (126; 134; 142; 150) sts and make 6 cm of 2 x 2 rib, start the 1st WS row with 1 selvage stand 1 purl. Increase 2 (2; 2; 4; 4) sts in the last WS row = 120 (128; 136; 146; 154) sts. Divide the sts in the next RS row in the following way: 1 selvage st, 21 (24; 27; 31; 34) sts of stockinette stitch, 19 sts of cable-stitch due to the scheme 1, 38 (40; 42; 44; 46) sts of stockinette stitch, 19 sts of cable-stitch, 21 (24; 27; 31; 34) sts of stockinette stitch, 1 selvage st. At 38 (40; 42; 44; 46) cm height from 2 x 2 rib, bind off 12 (13; 14; 16; 17) sts from both sides in the beginning of row for arm-holes = 96 (102; 108; 124; 120) sts. At 21 (22; 23; 24; 25) cm height of arm-holes, bind off the central 22 (24; 26; 28; 30 sts) for neck-hole and finish each side separately (start with the left side), bind off 1 x 3 sts and 1 x 2 sts in every 2nd row. At the same time, bind off 8 (7; 9; 11; 10) sts from the right side for shoulder chamfer, then, 3 x 8 (9; 9; 9; 10) sts in every 2nd row. Finish right side in symmetry to the left.

Left Front

Cast on 57 (61; 65; 70; 74) sts and make 6 cm of 2 x 2 rib, start the 1st WS row with 1 selvage st and 2 knit sts (2 knit sts; 2 knit sts; 1 purl; 1 purl). Divide the sts in the next RS row in the following way: 1 selvage st, 21 (24; 27; 31; 34) sts of stockinette stitch, 19 sts of cable-stitch due to the scheme 1, 15 (16; 17; 18; 19) sts of stockinette stitch, 1 selvage st. At 38 (37; 36; 35; 34) cm height of 2 x 2 rib, bind off 12 (13; 14; 16; 17) sts from the right side = 45 (48; 51; 54; 57) sts. At 16 (17; 18; 19; 20) cm height of arm-hole, bind off 5 (6; 7; 8; 9) sts from the left side for neck-hole, then, 1 x 3 sts and 1 x 2 sts and 3 x 1 st. Make shoulder chamfer in the same way, as for back.

Right Front

Make symmetry to the left front.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams.

Arm-Holes Borders

Lift 96 (100; 104; 108; 112) sts along the edge of every arm-hole and make 5,5 (6; 6,5; 7; 7,5) cm of 2 x 2 rib, start the 1st WS row with selvage st and 2 purls, then, bind off all the sts due to the pattern and sew the edges to the beginning of arm-holes.

Collar

Lift 34 (35; 36; 37; 38) sts along the front neck-hole and 48 (50; 52; 54; 56) sts along back neck-hole = 116 (120; 124; 128; 132) sts. Make 10 cm of 2 x 2 rib, start the row with 1 selvage st and 2 knit sts, bind off the sts due to the pattern.

Right Front Placket

Lift 156 sts along right front (including collar) and make 6 cm of 2 x 2 rib, start with 1st WS row with 1 selvage st and 2 purls and bind off the sts due to the pattern.


Left Front Placket

Make in the same way, as right front placket, but with 8 button-holes.

Make side seams. Sew buttons.
