- Hooks: H
- Misc: Yarn needle for securing ends

Directions
Step 1: With H hook and cotton yarn, ch 21, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across. (20 sts)
Step 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in same st, *sl st in next st, hdc in next st*, repeat until 1 st remains, sc in last st.
Step 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in same st, *sl st in next st (top of hdc from previous row), hdc in next st*, repeat until one st remains, sc in last st.
Step 4: Repeat previous row until desired length (sample is square).
Step 5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st to end of row.
Step 6: Border (optional): This step is worked around the outer edge of the cloth. Do not turn. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc evenly along the edge of cloth, working (sc, ch 1, sc) in corner, sc across the bottom edge of cloth, working (sc, ch 1, sc) in last st, sc evenly along the edge of cloth, working (sc, ch 1, sc) in last st, sc across top edge of cloth. Sl st to join.
Finish off and weave in ends.
