  • I Used Hometown USA / Lion Brand
  • C1 - Teal (2 skeins)
  • C2 - Bright Pink (2 skeins)
  • C3 - Lime Green (2 skeins)
  • C4 - Dark Purple (2 skeins)
  • C5 - Black (3 skeins)

You will need 2 skeins of each color, except for black where you will need 3 skeins.

  • Chain (ch)
  • Slip stitch (sl st)
  • Double Crochet (dc)

Pattern Details

The blanket will be approximately 34 x 34 inches. It is the perfect size for a lap blanket or baby blanket and is so easy to make bigger.

6.6 sc + 8 rows = 4" (10 cm) on size N-13 hook

Instructions

With C1, ch 62 (To make blanket larger add chs in increments of 2)

Row Instructions

  • R: 1 - 1 dc in the 3rd ch from the hook, 1 dc in each ch across, ch1, turn
  • R: 2 - 1 dc in the 1st st, *skip the next st, 3 dc in the next st, skip the next st, 1 sl st in the next st,* Repeat from * to * across row, 1 dc in the last st, turn
  • R: 3 - Change to C2, ch1, 1 dc in the 1st sl st, *1 sl st in the 2nd dc in the 1st shell (3 dcs) 3 dc in the next sl st,* Repeat from * to * across row, 1 dc in the last st, ch1 turn.
  • R: 4 - Repeat R: 3
  • R: 5 - R: 6 - Change to C3, Repeat R: 3
  • R: 7 - R: 8 - Change to C4, Repeat R: 3
  • R: 9 - R: 10 - Change to C5, Repeat R: 3
  • R: 11 - R: 12, Change to C1, Repeat R: 3
  • R: 13 - R: 14 - Change to C2, Repeat R: 3
  • R: 15 - R: 16 - Change to C3, Repeat R: 3

Finishing Up

Tie off, using a large yarn needle weave in all your yarn ends.

Trim

Attach C5 to one of the corners of the blanket and repeat the Shell Stitch around all four sides of the blanket, join with sl st.

Repeat, then tie off and weave in all the ends.
